Southeastern sweeps Friday doubleheader

WEATHERFORD, Okla. -- For the second-straight conference series, Southeastern baseball got off to a hot start and swept the opening day action, this time taking decisions of 5-2 and 15-4 from Southwestern Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon.
In the opener, Jimmy Johnson moved to 6-0, tossing 4 1/3 innings with a pair of runs on seven hits. Heath Wyatt collected his 11th save. K.C. Pfister drove in a pair of runs and Stephen Garrett added another RBI. Justin Miller also scored two runs.
In the nightcap, the bats came back to life as the Storm (19-9, 15-7) racked up 19 hits, with six players posting multi-hit outings. Miller, Pfister and Brad Shankle each tallied three hits, with Shankle driving in three and Miller scoring three.
Dan McKinney improved to 2-2 after tossing 5 1/3 innings and allowing four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. Phillip McKee earned the endurance save after tossing 3 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out three.
Saturday's finale was snowed out.
