Theft of vehicle — Oct. 11, 600 block Kessler, Officer Aaron Vines. During the nighttime hours between Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, someone stole a Toyota SUV.
Theft of vehicle — Oct. 12, 3012 Texoma Parkway, Officer Steve Northington. A car dealership reported that a man had driven a vehicle valued at $10,000 and did not return from the test drive.
Theft by bogus money orders — Oct. 12, Officer Eric Withrow. A woman went to the Sherman police station to report that she had been the victim of a scam. She received two money orders from a relative, who asked her to cash them. She put them in her checking account, then withdrew that amount of money, $1,700, which she gave to the relative. A few days later, her bank notified her the money orders were fraudulent.
Theft — Oct. 13, Officer Larry Bell. Jewelry valued at between $500-$1,500 is missing from the complainant’s home. Police have a suspect and are investigating.
Theft — Oct. 12, 4100 block Town Center, Officer Kevin Hudson. Thieves cut the lock to a propane tank box at a business and stole six propane tanks, valued at $660.
Drug arrest — Oct. 13, 700 block E. Peyton, Officer Brandon Hughes. During a traffic stop, Hughes asked for and was given consent of search the vehicle. He found two bags of marijuana in its truck. The backseat passenger, a 20-year-old man, claimed ownership and went to jail on a charge of possession of marijuana. He posted bail of $1,500 in surety bonds later Thursday.
Assault arrest — Oct. 13, 1600 block Lasalle, Officer Steve Northington. A family disturbance brought police to a residence about 6 a.m. Thursday. The suspect, an 18-year-old woman, went to jail on a charge of assault-family-with previous conviction. Bail was set at $5,000 and as of Friday afternoon, she remained in Grayson County Jail.
Assault — Oct. 14, 3000 block N. U.S. 75, Officer Cody Woods. An 18-year-old man said that another man, unknown to him, had suddenly attacked him. He had minor injuries from the assault.
Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 13, 800 block W. Washington, Telephone report. Between 10 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, someone broke into a 1998 white Isuzu Trooper, parked in the driveway of the complainant’s home. The complainant did not remember if he had or had not locked the vehicle.
Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 13, 3000 block Northridge, Telephone report. Someone broke into a 1996 two-door Ford Mustang, which had been locked when the complainant left it parked. Once inside, the thief took a black 80-gig Apple Ipod.
Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 11, 700 block S. FM 1417, Telephone report. Between 3 p.m. Oct. 7 and 11 a.m. Oct. 9, somebody broke into a 2008 two-door Dodge Ram pickup, then took an engagement from from the glove compartment and a 2-gig MP3 player from the center console.
Criminal mischief — Oct. 14, 1800 block Texoma Parkway, Officer Kevin Coveney. Witnesses told police they watched a man punching and kicking parts of a motel building, then go into a room. Police went to the room, but the suspect had fled before they arrived. Officers continued their search and found the suspect in the area. The storage area door had been damaged. No arrest has yet been made, pending the completion of the report.
Criminal mischief — Oct. 10, 800 block N. Woods, Telephone report. This report states that someone cut all four tires on the complainant’s 2000 Lincoln Town Car.
Criminal mischief — Oct. 11, 1400 block N. Cleveland, Telephone report. A woman told police that during a 30-minute period Oct. 9, two people drove by her residence, and one of them threw a large brick through a window on her home, and another through the window of her passenger car. Damages are estimated at about $750.

Disturbance and drugs arrests —Oct. 13, Pottsboro area, Deputy Charles Motley. Someone called for help regarding two women fighting. The first woman told Motley, according to the report, that they had been arguing when the second woman punched and slapped her several times in the face and head. She showed the deputy a knot on the back of her head and scratches and red marks on her face, neck, and arms. Then, Motley talked with the second woman who she she had slapped, punched, and tackled the first woman. The knock on the back of the first woman’s neck was obtained, according to the report, when the first woman hit a rock on the ground.
Then, the second woman told Motley that the first woman had methamphetamine in a safe inside the home. The first woman denied that, then took the deputy into the home’s bathroom, where she pulled the keys from a pocket to a safe under the sink. She opened it, and Motley reported seeing bags of marijuana and meth laying on top of other items.
He arrested both women. The first woman was jailed on charges of possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana. With bail set at $6,500, she remained incarcerated Friday. The second woman was jailed on a charge of assault causing injury-family violence and posted $1,500 bail the same day for her release.
