Police reports
Denison PoliceShooting suspect jailed -- Oct. 10, 2:25 a.m., 315 West Coffin, Police were called to a fight in progress at a local night club. One victim was shot in a leg, and the bullet went completely through. He was treated for that injury and released. Police charged the suspect with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of marijuana. The suspect remains in Grayson County Jail in lieu of $122,526 bail and fines.
Theft -- Oct. 13, A woman who lives in a Tarrant County went to the Denison police station on Tuesday to make a formal complaint of theft against her former long-distance boyfriend, who lives in Denison.
Assault -- Oct. 13, 500 block East Monterey, Officer Greg Brown. A woman said her common-law husband and she argued, he became irate and verbally abusive to her, and so she went into a bedroom to calm down, and he threatened her with a knife.
Vandalism more than $20,000 -- Oct. 12, 3 p.m., 3500 block FM 120, Police were called to a car wash where someone was reportedly trying to break into a vending machine. A man and woman were arrested and jailed on charges of criminal mischief.
Assault -- Oct. 10, 12:25 a.m., 1800 block Mockingbird, A woman called police and reported that her daughter assaulted her by shoving her against the wall.
Theft -- Oct. 10, 401 N. U.S. Highway 75, A business manager called police to report that an employee had taken more than $400 from the cash register.
Wreck -- Oct. 14, 11:35 a.m., 600 block West Crawford, Police were called to a disturbance, and one of the people left in a car. She sideswiped the pickup carrying a Denison work crew. No one was injured. There were numerous dents and scratches to the city-owned vehicle, but it was drivable.
Durant Police
Burglary and arrest -- Oct. 13, 300 block SE 1st Avenue, Police jailed one suspect on a charge of knowingly concealing stolen property, felon in possession of firearm, giving phony identification after firearms were stolen from a home on 1st Avenue. Police are searching for three additional suspects.
Sherman Police
Burglary -- Oct. 13, 4400 block Texoma Parkway, Someone broke through a wall of a business and removed a large amount of cigarettes.
Unauthorized use of motor vehicle -- Oct. 13, 2200 block South Crockett, A complainant told police that he loaned his car to someone about 11 a.m. Monday. The borrower was only supposed to take the vehicle to the store and come straight back. As of 8:21 a.m. Tuesday, he had not returned the car.
Forged checks -- Oct. 13, Telephone report. Between Sept. 28 and Sept. 30, at least three checks were written on the account of a Sherman resident, the checks having been written in Las Vegas.
Counterfeit money -- Oct. 13, 1700 block Texoma Parkway, A business called police to report counterfeit money had been submitted to the business.
Burglary -- Oct. 13, l700 block Madison, A complainant stated a vehicle occupied by three people, known to the complainant, had followed him to a friend's house. The complainant went inside the house, and when he went back outside a few minutes later, he discovered a window broken out of the vehicle and its stereo missing.
