Sherman Police

Theft of firearm -- March 5, 3300 block Texoma Parkway, A woman called police Tuesday to report that someone broke into her unlocked vehicle and took a handgun.

Graffiti -- March 5-7, 700 block E. Taylor and 400 block South First, Residents called police to report that someone had used spray paint to cause damage. One complainant said the paint was used on his vehicle Sunday and the other reported it was used on a the side of a business and discovered Friday.

Criminal mischief -- March 8, 200 block Texoma Parkway, Between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, someone shot out a store front window with a BB or pellet gun.

Theft over $1,500 -- March 9, 2900 block Michelle, A ring was reported missing from a motel room.

Attempted burglary -- March 10, 800 block East Centennial, Someone attempted to get inside the complainant's vehicle about 4 a.m. and also made efforts to enter the residence through a window.

Grayson County Sheriff

Criminal mischief -- March 5, 1200 block Harvey Lane, A deputy saw the woman pull what appeared to be a key chain out of her purse and scratch the left rear fender of acar, then get into a van and leave. When he examined the vehicle, he saw there were several scratches on the fender that went all the way down to the metal.

Criminal mischief -- March 6, 11:26 p.m., West Line Road at Lynch Creek, A complainant said he followed a white Dodge pickup south on West Line Road with the occupants "bashing" mail boxes.  Two 16-year-olds from Collinsville admitted to smashing the mail boxes. Authorities turned them over to the custody of their parents and charges are pending.

Van Alstyne area burglary -- March 6, 600 block Stone Marshall, A neighbor called the Sheriff's Office after seeing what he thought might be a burglary in progress. During a search, a deputy saw a young white male standing near a counter inside the house with what appeared to be a marijuana pipe and a clear baggy of what was believed to be marijuana on the counter. An investigation revealed that one of the females inside the residence was the owner's daughter. Police arrested a McKinney man, 25, on a charge of possession of marijuana. He remains in Grayson County Jail on $2,500 bail.
