Sherman Police

Theft over $500 -- Oct. 6, 2600 block North U.S. Highway 75, A complainant told police that he fell asleep at the business about 1:30 a.m. When he awoke about 4 a.m., he discovered that someone had taken his briefcase, which had been on the floor next to him. It contained a text book, a laptop computer, and notebooks. The total value of stolen property was given at $1,070.

Stolen vehicle recovered -- Oct. 6, A man found his vehicle which had been reported stolen to Denison police in the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway. He went to the Sherman police station and got help from Goodman in recovering it. Goodman confirmed it had been reported stolen and turned it over to a Denison officer for processing.

Assault with deadly weapon -- Oct. 3, 600 block Dove Lane, Officers were sent to the scene from a caller saying a firearm had been discharged. The report said there had been a fight and during the altercation one of the suspects claimed to have a weapon. The homeowner then shot a handgun into the ground to scare the suspects.

Assault with deadly weapon -- Oct. 3, 1300 block South First, A victim told police that a suspect shot at his vehicle several times after a fight. One of the bullets struck the vehicle's tires.

Assault -- Oct. 2, 1600 block East Lamar, Two people were assaulted during an argument and one arrest was made.

Assault -- Oct. 3, 1300 block East Odneal, A man was pushed off a porch and taken to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.

Assault -- Oct. 3, 4800 block Indio Lane, A woman became the victim of an assault.

Assault -- Oct. 3, 2500 block North U.S. Highway 75, A drunk male was inside a hotel room, yelling and cursing. Management asked him to leave and the suspect's ex-wife agreed to take drive him to another hotel. As they left, police said the drunk suspect punch his ex-wife and threaten his pre-school-age daughter.

Assault -- Oct. 3, 900 block East Thomas, A man refused to his house when a woman asked him to. While police were there, they were told an assault had occurred the night before. No arrests.

Assault -- Oct. 4, 2300 block West Taylor, A woman received minor injuries during an assault by her husband.

Assault -- Oct. 4, 500 block South Travis, A woman went to the police station to report that her boyfriend placed his arm around her neck, causing her pain.

Drug arrest -- Oct. 4, 401 East U.S. Highway 82 (Walmart), A Midland woman, 48, was jailed on a charge of possession of methamphetamine between 1-4 grams and a charge of driving while license invalid. She posted $5,364 bond and was released.

Oct. 5, 800 block South Elm, Currency taken.

Oct. 5, 401 East U.S. Highway 82 (Walmart), A gray Ford 4-door passenger vehicle left unlocked with rear windows down was broken into.

Oct. 3, Contemporary Drive, A vehicle owner detained a man he caught inside his vehicle. Police jailed the suspect on a charge of unlawful entry of a vehicle and minor in possession of tobacco.

Oct. 3, 700 block Madison, Several suspects entered the residence and assaulted several people.

Durant Police

Arrest -- Oct. 6, 11 p.m., Police jailed a man accused of shoplifting, driving without a license, driving the wrong way, and possession of marijuana.

Shoplifter arrested -- Oct. 6, 3712 West Main (Walmart), The store's loss prevention officer detained a woman who had left the store without paying for objects.
