Shoplifting suspects arrested — Oct. 21, 401 N. U.S. 75 (Walmart), Officer Wesley Bounds. Twice Friday, Bounds was called to a store regarding shoplifting suspects being held by store security officers. Three people were jailed on charges of theft, with the items taken valued at $88 and $103. One suspect hid the items inside a diaper bag and the other two inside their purses.

Man with knife — Oct. 22, 1300 block W. Sears, Officer Donald Rhodes. A complainant told police that her son argued with her over money he said she had stolen from him. He went to the kitchen and returned with a knife. The report states that he jumped around and yelled at the complainant, waving the knife at her. He left when she dialed 911. Lt. Mike Eppler said the case will be presented to the Grayson County district attorney for consideration of charges.

Attempted burglary — Oct. 23, 800 W. Crawford (Jo’s Mini Mart), Officer Isaac Bates. Complainant stated someone entered into a storage area in back of the store and damaged the wall inside the room in an attempt to enter the store. Eppler said there were also some screws missing from the roof area. It is under investigation as criminal mischief.

Tire cut — Oct. 23, 2700 block Stafford Drive, Officer Isaac Bates. A complainant stated someone cut a tire on her vehicle, with damages estimated at $200. Police have a possible suspect in the continuing investigation.

Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 24, 3000 block Belle Avenue, Officer Ben Ray. A complainant stated someone entered his vehicle, which he wasn’t sure was locked, and removed a Garmin GPS unit ($200 value) and a holder for the Garmin ($20 value) and $5 in loose change.

Burglary of vehicle — Oct 24, 3100 block Frances, Officer Jimmy Dick. It was another vehicle that the complainant couldn’t say was or wasn’t locked that someone got into and took a Garmin GPS unit, valued at $100.

Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 24, 100 block E. Gandy, Officer Isaac Bates. A complainant said someone entered a vehicle which had been locked but which had no signs of forcible entry and removed its stereo and speaker box.

Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 24, 3000 block Belle Avenue, Officer Isaac Bates. A car was burglarized of a change purse and about $20 in change. The report does not state if the car had been left locked.

Burglary of vehicle — Oct. 24, 3100 block Frances, Officer Donald Rhodes. Someone entered locked vehicle without leaving signs of force. Taken were about $30 in change, a wedding ring set ($1,500 value), a pair of Nike shows ($90 value), and about 30 CDs with a $300 value. Also missing is a ladder ($150 value) from the deck of the residence where the car was parked.

Burglary of vehicles — Oct. 24, 3100 block Frances, Officer Tom Unerfusser. A complainant told police that someone entered three vehicles that had been left unlocked. Taken were a back pack ($70 value), a Yamaha trumpet ($400 value), stereo face plate ($300 value) and $25 in change.

Burglary of building — Oct. 25, 400 block W. Hull, Officer Cory Kreil. Thieves broke into a garage by pulling off the siding, and then took items valued $350. These were, Eppler said, an air compressor, a sander, and two hand grinders.

Grayson County S.O.

Sadler area, burglary of vehicle — Oct. 25, 400 block Rodgers, Cpl. Joe Ross. The complainant told Ross that between midnight and 8 a.m. Tuesday, someone entered two vehicles parked in his driveway next to his house. They were not damaged. Several small items were taken.

Gordonville area, theft — Oct. 25, FM 901 (Rockcreek Resort), Cpl. Joe Ross. A local business reported that between 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday morning, someone stole a Kawasaki Mule ATV.

Whitewright area, criminal mischief — Oct. 25, 200 block Blanks Road, Deputy John Pearson. The owner of a 1984 Camaro reported that he noticed damage to its rear from what appeared to have been from gravel rocks thrown at it by another vehicle. Damage was estimated at $175. The report states that this was in the general area where deputies have routine patrol and another deputy had told him about a suspicious vehicle on Reynolds Road, not far away. That vehicle was described as a black Ford pickup, possibly an extended cab.

Sherman area, criminal mischief — Oct. 26, 12,100 block N. FM 1417, Officer Chris Gautier. A business owner reported that between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday, someone cut through his fence and got onto his property. Several cars were vandalized and burglarized. Windows on all of the vehicles had been damaged and taken were wheels and tires from every car. An employee from another business noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area during the night time earlier in the week.
