City of Tom Bean holds contest for water tower logo

TOM BEAN -- When the Tom Bean water tower gets a new paint job, thanks to a grant won by the city, a local student's bright idea will decorate the tank.

The student chosen will also be a little richer and a lot more famous. But students have only until Friday to submit their designs for the town's logo to be painted on the tank.

"The tank will be repainted white per the city engineer's recommendation and the city needs to come up with a logo to be painted on the tower as well," said Tom Bean Mayor Sherry Howard. "We would like to make this a fun event and have the students of Tom Bean participate in this opportunity of entering our 'Logo for the Downtown Water Tower' contest."

Submit logo designs to Howard by Friday. Her e-mail address is sherryhoward@cableone.net.

Howard added that this is another event intended to bring the city and the school together as a team within the community.

I hope the Tom Bean students take advantage of this opportunity to share their creative ideas and serve the community at the same time.

Hurray for this small town in Grayson County in getting the school and the city together as one! My congratulations to you in making this happen as more cities in Grayson County need to take note of this effort.
