HERALD DEMOCRAT

DURANT -- Southeastern tight end Jarrod Temple and defensive back Welton Johnson have been selected first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 honorees.

To be considered for the award a student-athlete must maintain a 3.3 GPA or higher and be at least a sophomore in classification. The award is voted on by Sports Information Directors.

Temple, a senior, was an LSC-N all-academic selection last season and is a three-time all-LSC selection in his career. This season he has 23 catches for 306 yards and four touchdowns.

Johnson, a junior, has tallied 25 tackles. He has also chipped in seven passes defended and a pair of fumble recoveries.

Southeastern finishes the season with a 2 p.m. matchup at East Central on Saturday.
