Durant police jail sexual assault suspect

DURANT, Okla. -- Police jailed a man accused of molesting his preteen step-daughter numerous times after watching pornographic videos with her inside their home.
The suspect, 30, remains in Bryan County Jail on a charge of lewd acts to a child under 16.
The child's mother brought her to the Durant police station this past Sunday to file a complaint.
The next day, the child talked with a forensic interviewer at the ABC House, a child advocacy center in Durant. The child disclosed a long and detailed history of sexual abuse, all occurring inside the home, according to information supplied by Durant police Lt. Carrie Wyrick. The child spoke of places inside the house where the abuse had taken place and described equipment that was sometimes involved.
On Tuesday, Durant police Detective Shane Harkey went to the home with a search warrant. Inside the house, they found evidence that substantiated the details the child had given. Wyrick said the suspect had previously erased all his computer equipment, thinking his wife had left him becuase of the pornography on the computer. He hoped to get her back.
Wyrick said the computer has been sent to a lab in Tulsa afor analysis. Pending their findings, the suspect could face additional pornography charges.
