Denison Spring Art Tour set
Explore historic downtown Denison's state-designated Arts and Cultural District during the annual Spring Art Tour on March 27 and 29. Saturday events run from 10 a.m. -6 p.m., and Sunday activities are from 1 -5 p.m.
This year's tour will include a multitude of free art demonstrations, artists' receptions and art exhibits on both days, as well as special events and exhibits in all the art galleries. Other downtown merchants, museums and eateries will also be open, many offering specials in celebration of the annual tour.
Saturday art demonstrations will be held as follows, listed by times: 10 a.m.-11 a.m. -- Donna Finch Adams, encaustic, Studio 406; 10 a.m.-noon -- Liz Walters, acrylic, and Gordon Green, watercolor, Images Gallery, and Linda Hopson, gourds, and Jerry Green, mosaic wood, Mary Karam Gallery; 11 a.m.-1 p.m. .-- Delores Collins, watercolor, Images Gallery; noon-2 p.m -- Stan Perkins, acrylic, Images Gallery, and Betty Nash, oils, Pat Waymon Gallery; 12:30 -4 p.m. -- Richard Duval, wood turning, Images Gallery; 12 -3 p.m. -- Robert Ostman, ceramic teapot, Artplace; 1 -2 p.m. -- Donna Finsh Adams, encaustic, Studio 406; 1 -3 p.m. -- Pat Pierce, oil portrait, Karen Braudrick, gourds, and John Robinson, oils, Images Gallery; 2 -4 p.m. -- Pat Waymon, oils, and Elizabeth Padgett, mixed media, Waymon Gallery; and 3 -5 p.m. -- Jack Ousey, ceramic media, and Doug Simpson, mixed media, Artplace.
Sunday demonstrations include: 1 -3 p.m. -- Jean Brown, pastel, Images; 2 -3 p.m. -- Donna Finsh Adams, encaustic, Studio 406, Shelley Tate Garner, acrylic on acrylic, Artplace, and Betty Nash, oils, Pat Waymon Gallery; and 3 - 4 p.m. -- Pat Waymon, oils, Pat Waymon Gallery.
Artists receptions are set for 4 -6 p.m. on Saturday at the Mary Karam Gallery, and 6:30 -9 p.m. at FreshLight Studio.
Adding to Saturday's activities will be the Denison Service League's annual Loft Tour. This year's tour features more than half a dozen Main Street loft living spaces. Ticket sales from the loft tour helps the league to continue its many community service projects. For tickets and/or more information on the loft tour, visit the Bargain Box at 418 W. Main or the Denison Chamber of Commerce.
Free transportation throughout the downtown area will be provided by TAPS.
