Braving Black Friday
Here's to you, the brave -- and perhaps a little foolhardy -- Black Friday shoppers. You're probably home and already unloading that carload of Christmas and Hanukkah presents.
Once the Thanksgiving dishes were put up, you probably had the 3-D maps out on the dining room table. You had your flat screen TV strategy diagrammed with the video game secondary front right down to the third wave assault for those all-important stocking stuffers.
Before you put your turkey sated belly to rest, you no doubt watched the weather forecast and laid out the proper attire: Layers with the old stuff on top that could be cast away if need be. No regrets. Make room for the new stuff.
My wish for you, this beginning of the season of seasons, is that you fare well and stay healthy.
As I arise at 10 a.m. and toast you with a cup of coffee, still in my jammies, I think of my lists yet unfilled; my projects yet to crochet and mail; my limbs intact. I still have more than three weeks, or close to it, and I prefer Cyber Monday for holiday crazed shopping.
