The Bon Jovi project

It all started innocently enough with a couple of clicks on the computer keyboard. I wonder how many people a day have that thought?
But mine really was innocent. I had forgotten my CD wallet at home and needed something to listen to while I wrote yet another story about the county jail.
So, I went to the next option and pulled up Youtube. One of the first videos that came up was Bon Jovi's "Welcome to Wherever You Are."
I listened for a minute and decided I liked what I heard. As I listened, a fuzzy memory surfaced from my college days ... something about riding around in a car while "Lay Your Hands on Me" blared from the speakers.
Just what have those New Jersey guys been up to since then, I wondered.
One search led to another and then another. Soon I had found copies of all 11 albums and more than a few DVDs of concerts.
Hey, I am Bon Jovi fan.
Next came the announcement that the group was planning to do a tour. They were even coming to Dallas. The first date, April 10, sold out and they added another for April 11.
Then, I decided I wanted to ask Messrs. (Jon) Bon Jovi and (Richie) Sambora, the song writing team that has kept the band relevant when all of the other hair bands faded away, a few questions and maybe write up that interview for our newspaper.
I really had no idea how to reach a super star rocker, but I put a lot of effort into it. So far, the effort has come to naught, but I am not done... as Bon Jovi would say ... I am going to do it "One more time with feeling." OK, I am going to do it several more times, until I get the answer I want.
Anyone with any ideas can drop me a line. I have already tried three publicists, a link to the record label and few other things.
I plan to keep plugging away to see what turns up and I will probably write about it along the way. So for now, I am still frantically seeking Bon Jovi and I hear he is getting closer.

Bon Jovi Interview : 3/9/2010
The fan club is VERY close to the artist...president of the Bon Jovi fan club is Jon Bon Jovi and it is run by his bother, Matt.
There was a columist who paid to join and was in the chat room a few days ago. Was it you???
No luck with the publicists or the venue, I'd try the promoter AEG.

I have done many interviews for touring artists. If you don't have luck with the label, contact the Dallas venue and explain your interest in an interview. They will hook you up with the information.

Finding Bon Jovi : 3/1/2010
Bon Jovi is on Island Def Jam label. The Fan Club is linked through the official site, http://www.bonjovi.com. The fan club is for the band, although its focus is Jon Bon Jovi, and is run by his brother Matt Bongiovi. There is a forum on there which will allow you to post questions to administration. I am sure they or the label can point you to the media contact person. As the band is touring and promoting a new CD, "The Circle" they are likely receptive to more press.
Good luck and congrats for rediscovering Bon Jovi!

Try to connect with a fan club. Sometimes the president is pretty close to the artists.
