BONHAM -- Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Mark Tacket has released more information regarding a fatal pedestrian-vehicle wreck of Tuesday night, including the identity of the pedestrian who was killed.

Randy Keen, 28, of Ivanhoe died at the scene of the accident.

It happened at 9:40 p.m. on FM 898, 1.2 miles west of State Highway 121, in an area with a 60 mph posted speed limit.

Roberta J. Sparks, of Ravenna was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup west on F.M. 898. Mr. Keen was walking west, and according to the report, stepped out into the lane of traffic. The pickup struck him with its right front quarter panel. Justice of the Peace Joe Dale pronounced Mr. Keen dead at the scene and had his body sent to a medical examiner's office.

Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore said they received a first 911 call regarding a person walking dangerously in the roadway and it was a minute later than another caller reported the pedestrian had been struck.
