Winter storm creates treacherous roads
Tuesday morning's commute was fun, if you like the terror icy roads provide. Terror is probably too strong a word, but if you have to drive, be extremely careful. The problem as the wind blows snow off the roads, and tires pack down what snow there is, a solid sheet of ice is all that's left.
Also, be prepared for the wind, it's blowing quite strongly out of the north, strong enough it pushed my little car while I was driving on Houston Street to make my way to the Herald Democrat Sherman office.
My advice is to stay home, read your Herald Democrat that was delivered by brave carriers this morning, and watch the weather reports on the KTEN and KXII family of networks. You can stay abreast of any Wednesday school closings or cancellations on heralddemocrat.com.
If you do venture out, take a camera and share some pictures with us. E-mail them to heralddemocrat@gmail.com.
