Boettger among Heisman hopefuls
No you didn't read that headline wrong.
Denison senior center Corbin Boettger is of 20 state-wide finalists (10 of each gender) for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The award is given to a male and female scholar-athlete from every state and from that pool the national winner is selected.
He ranks among the top seniors academically and was an all-state selection last season and is on the way to repeating that honor this season.
Boettger will find out if he is the male winner in Texas on Saturday and the national announcement is Dec. 11.
