SHERMAN -- Police Lt. Bob Fair said that they received a tip regarding
Edward Lee Harlow's whereabouts. Harlow is a suspect wanted in connection with the American Bank of Texas robbery on Saturday at Taylor Street in Sherman.
The FBI, and Denison police went to a residence
in the 600 block of East Acheson Street in Denison, where Harlow gave
himself up without incident.
Harlow is suspected of handing a bank teller at note demanding money. The note said the person with the note was armed with a gun, said Sherman police Sgt. Bruce Dawsey following the robbery.
The bank's surveillance video shows a man entering the bank lobby carrying something white or light colored in his hands. He is seen standing in line talking with other customers for about four minutes, sometimes allowing them to go ahead of him. Then, the surveillance shows the robber to be at the teller's station and that's when he handed her the note. The robbery complete, he ducked beneath the crowd-control belt rather than walk past the customers and left the bank.
Law enforcement obtained an arrest warrant against Harlow, charging him with aggravated robbery.
