Evanovich writes another bestseller

Jane Evanovich's latest book, "Finger Lickin' Fifteen" is a good way to kill a few hot hours under the air conditioner.
I listened to the book on tape and found it to be every bit as fun as any of her previous Stephanie Plum books. Plum is Evanovich's fictional Trenton bounty hunter with a humorous edge and a zany cast of supporting character that range from an 80-some-odd-year-old granny to a former call girl with a penchant for skin-tight latex.
Some reviews have complained that Plum doesn't seem to be getting much better at bounty hunting or relationships even though this is her 15th book. I beg to differ in that I think Plum's inability to change into some superhero, no matter how hard she tries, keeps her human.
I don't want to read about someone who can decide between hunky cop Joe Morelli and dangerous private security darling Ranger because I like watching her toy with the idea of both of them.
Besides, she does sorta pick one over the other by the time 15 finishes its romp through the investigation of a murder that happens right before Lula's eyes. Grandma Mazur makes a funny-bone crushing appearance in this book as Lula's cooking side-kick. Just the thought of Grandma and Lula in a kitchen is almost enough to make me laugh and the situations Evanovich creates for them guarantees a good chuckle through out the book.
I will agree some parts of the book read a bit slower than I would have liked, but I must also add that there were parts that made me laugh so hard my sides ached. I think making anyone laugh that hard is rare talent and one for which Evanovich is to be treasured.
