Dance Xplosion competes at national competition

ARLINGTON -- Students from Dance Xplosion in Denison earned high honors in the recent Stage One National Competition, held at the University of Texas at Arlington.

In the solo competition, the following dancers were among winners: Jordyn Carson, jazz, high gold and first overall; Franki Halbrooks, open, high gold and second overall; Dally Halbrooks, lyrical, gold and third overall; Hannah Elkins, clogging, high gold and second overall; and Cadi Sisk, gold and fourth overall.

The hip-hop duet by Franki and Dally Halbrooks earned a high gold and first overall.

The clogging trio of Danielle Stovall, Paisley Watkins and Kaitlyn Dowling received a high gold and first overall.

Chosen from among 31 teams in the petite category for the competition's "Shootout" and earning the Excellence in Clogging award was the clogging group made up of Hailee Blasingame, Condey Calhoun, Jordyn Carson, Angela Chesser, Hannah Elks, Skylar Gilliam, Chloe Huntoon, Shanley Lowry, Jacque Matthews, Zoe Vaughn and Morgan White. The group earned a high gold and first overall for its performance.

Receiving a gold and third overall was the pom-pom group of Kassidy Anderson, Makensie Anderson, Rachel Davis, Hailey Guth, Kennedy Jewell, Madison Poe and Miranda Poe.

The jazz group made up of Hailee Blasingame, Jordyn Carson, Hannah Elkins, Cadi Sisk, Allyson Edgette, Zoe Vaughn, Gracie Jones, Skylar Bailey, Ashlyn Voight and Kathryn San Millan won a high gold and second overall.

Competing in the jazz character division were two other groups: JQ Ivers, Paisley Watkins, Danielle Stovall, Kaitlyn Dowling, Autumn Wasden, Britnee Ray and Jessica Brown; and JQ Ivers, Paisley Watkins, Danielle Stovall, Kaitlyn Dowling, Dally Halbrooks; Franki Halbrooks; Jordyn Carson; Hailee Blasingame, Hannah Elkins and Cadi Sisk.
